T2

M4

M4 instances can simply be interpreted as the instances that are used for general purpose applications. The M4 instance types have the capability of offering well-balanced memory, network, and computer resources and are generally considered as a better option for a number of general purpose applications. They make use of custom Intel Xeon E5-2676 v3 Haswell processors. And by making the use of Intel Turbo Boot the clock rate for these instances ranges to 2.4 GHz to 3.0 GHz.

M3

The M3 instance type is used for the purpose of availing balanced memory, network and compute resources. M3 instances are also used for general purpose applications in virtual machines. M3 instances will be the best fit for mid-size and small databases, for performing different data processing jobs that seek additional memory usage, to run backend servers for SAP, cluster computing, and many other such high-level applications.

C4

C4 instances are the latest addition to the compute-optimized instances. The main feature of these instances is low computed/price performance. C4 instances make use of custom 2.9 GHz Intel Xeon E5-2666 v3 processor. By making use of the Intel Turbo Boost technology the clock speed of C4 instances touches up to 3.5 GHz.

C3
